Does anyone know of any? I live in Babylon and am looking at John Anthony's. Any others...either Nassau or Suffolk. Thanks!

Re: Reception places on the water
try the Riviera in massapequa its on the water and not your typical hall. i have been to John anthony and its very nice but it is similar to all other halls I have been to. the riviera has such a warm feeling its all dark wood. It has a ggreat outside area for a cocktail hour and it has a great bar. we booked it for 7/30/04. Good luck. FM if you have any questions

I am getting married in John Anthonys, is it the fact that you have to see it everyday that makes you not want to have it there?

Re: Reception places on the water
We're having our reception at the Harbor Club in Huntington. The food and service are excellent and they only do one party at a time! It is right on the water overlooking Huntington Harbor. They are actually owned by the same people as John Anthony's. Good Luck!

I know how you feel, seeing the same place over and over makes it very boring...I had never been to JA's so I fell in love with it instantly. Good Luck!!! What about Bridgview Yacht Club?

p&a91203... do you know a website or phone number for the harbor club???
Also Coindre Hall in Huntington is on the water, and on a clear day you can see the Water from Oheka Castle

Re: Reception places on the water
I am having my wedding at John Anthonys and I love it there!! We liked it as soon as we walked in, and the people were so great and helpful. I've heard so many great things about the service and food and the views, cost and extra perks are incredible!!
We saw John Anthonys last (after about 7 other places). We were all set to book Bridgeview and then we went to JAs and changed our minds. JAs offered more but Bridgeview is also beautiful. The cocktail room isn;t my favorite but the main room is very nice. I felt the same way about Bridgeview that you feel about JAs..I live right there and know many people that have gottn or will get married here. The view is nice but you can see the other side (bridge is right there, hospital, etc) At JAs you see a lot of water.
We loved the Riviera but it is completely different than JAs (and Bridgeview)..It is more of an old feel, like you feel you are in someones house. It has dark wood and a spectacular view. Lots of water. It is different than JAs b/c JAs is MUCH more modern (depending on what you are looking for). The things we didn't like about Riviera is it is very small. We are having about 150 and there is no way they would be comfortable. I would suggest it would be perfect for 100. The cocktail room is VERY small, if your cocktail is outside thats great but if not, there would be a problem. The last thing was the bathroom. I don't know why but I had a bathroom fetish while looking for halls and I saw some NASTY ones. Riviera wasn't that bad but it defiately wasn't great. JAs was really nice and so was Bridegview (stange I know).
The HArbor house I haven't seen (but heard its nice) and Captain Bills I've heard is nice.
Hope this helps a little

Re: Reception places on the water
I just had my wedding at atlantica in westhampton beach on jan 4 and it is absolutely beautiful (even in the winter) www.ontheatlantic.com I honestly can't say enough nice things about the place!
the halls we looked at on the water were... swan club san souci crescent beach club atlantica john anthonys lands end harbor club thatched cottage pavillion
there's also the restaurant on jones beach...not sure how it is...
for me it was between atlantica and lands end (and oheka...but they are not on the water...)
I chose lands end...and was so happy with my choice
