Does anyone know of a place, Nassau County preferably,but will go to Suffolk, that will cost around $100, with tax and gratuity for a July or August saturday night? We are not looking to have any extras. Just the basics.We are only having 120-130 guests.
Also, I was wondering have any of you attended or heard good things about a wedding that strictly has cocktail hour food.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.:)
We are paying $85/person at the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson for a Sunday night in August. I believe a Saturday night was only $10 more/person (there just weren't any available in August 2002). www.themeadowclub.com The food is excellent, and I have only heard good things about them. I'm sure that they could work with you if you wanted only cocktail hour food. They have two rooms - and the one we have, we have to guarentee 135 people. The other room is smaller and I believe you only had to guarentee 95.

Ive been to quite a few events there and really like it...Its affordable and so beautiful...
my sister went there for a large wedding and said cocktail was too crowded, I went to a 150 person wedding and it was fine - I think your party is small enough that it would be perfect.
I've been to a few cocktail weddings. The nice thing about them is you can get right to the party and don't have to worry about sitting down for dinner -- if you have a big dance crowd. Make sure they will replenish food until cake/dessert is served. Sometimes these can cost more money because the caterer can not control portions. But it's definitely nice for mingling.
We are paying $85 per person for our full 4-course menu, including cocktail hour and full open bar for 5 hours. Floral table centerpieces are included as is the cake.
Prices might be different depending on what time and day you have it on - we are having it on a Saturay afternoon.

We are having our reception at Coral House in Baldwin. They have rooms of all sizes, and can accommodate a smaller wedding, like mine. Our room holds 125, we have a Sat. night in Sept., and it is $65pp. They have rooms that hold larger and smaller parties as well.
