If you're getting married at the RH and not seeing FH before the ceremony-then i'm assuming the only time to go and greet guests is during the reception?
Anyone know at what point this happens? FH is saying we'd have to walk around while the dinner is being served. But i really want to sit down and enjoy my meal i'm paying SO much money for! LOL! But he says that's the only time people will be seated at their tables to go and talk to them??
How does this actually work??
Thanks
ETA:Since we're not seeing each other before the ceremony; the CH will be our main time to take pictures; so we only have the reception to greet guests.

Re: Reception question?
are you not having a cocktail hour? or is that when you're taking all your pics? try to get as many people greeted by CH so you can dance and enjoy your party.
Def try to walk around during the salad course though so you can actually sit down for your dinner...haha - unlikely tho

Re: Reception question?
I am having the same problem. I have no idea when to go greet our guests without losing out on dinner time. The weddings I have been to lately, the bride and groom have sat at their tables and their guests got up to greet them. Not sure if I like that idea though, almost seems rude to me.

We had to do that at the last wedding we went to! We got up and greeted the bride/groom at their table!

Re: Reception question?
FH is the one adamant about not seeing each other before the ceremony.
Maybe if we can take pictures before that will free up a lot of time for us at the reception!

that does seem rude and arrogant even. these people gave up their time and money to come be a part of your day. you should show your appreciation and greet them.
try to get as many greeted during cocktail hour and then go to each table during the first salad course. unfort you prob will miss out on some dinner time

Re: Reception question?
ok Good suggestion! I don't mind missing out on the salad. If we do our 1st dance; and speeches then maybe we can get up and greet people. We're only having 100 guests (120 max). So that's only about 10 tables to go to. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long!

Re: Reception question?
I think that you would be able to greet your maybe following the ceremony for a small amount of time, during part of the cocktail hour, during the appetizer and salad courses that happen before dinner course.

my FH is the same way! I don't want to miss out on the CH either bc we are paying so much for everything. To meet in the middle of what we both want, we are having the photographer come early and getting as many seperate pictures out of the way as possible i.e. if I'm ready first (or visa-versa) then I will do as many pic with my MOH (not having a BP) and pics of me with best man, my mother, etc so that we will only really need the pics of FH and I together during CH.

Re: Reception question?
If you are having a cocktail hour after the ceremony than you would greet your guests (or most of them) during that time. If there is anyone you missed then you can greet them during the first course so that way you have the rest of the night to unwind and relax

The last wedding I went to I had to greet the bride and groom separately on the dance floor. I thought that was sooo rude but I thught maybe they didn't know. FH and I are seeing each other before so we can greet, mingle, and share cocktail hour with our guests.

Oh yes; i think we're definetely gonna have to do this-i'll take all my portrait shots; Pic's with my girls; my parents; my family BEFORE the ceremony. Let him get his pictures with his groomsmen; his parents out of the way. So that we can knock out all our shots together; w/our families together hopefully within 30 minutes! This way we can go to the tail end of our CH and greet our guests there!
