Reception Site

I would like to get married on August 4, 2001, and I have not even searched for a wedding dress I live in Brooklyn and I am looking for a restaurant or somewhere where I can have the wedding outside - I know August is a hot time. I need to get started and it is really getting over-whelming - So my question is does anyone out there know of a nice restaurant or outdoor facilities where I can arrange to have a minister and my wedding outside. Thank you - any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Reception Site

I know it`s pricey, but the Brooklyn Botantical Gardens is beautiful http://www.palmhouse.com. Not to add to your stress, but I would suggest you book something NOW. we booked our 7/02 reception hall and church in february of this year. many places do require/advise advanced booking. my friend got engaged in january and is getting married in july at the oheka castle. 7 months planning, i thought that was pushing it! 4 months is going to be hard, but you might luck out if there is cancellation. check out www.locationsmagazine.com i would suggest you start looking for dresses immediately. you will probably have to rush order it. standard delivery time is 10-12 depending upon salon and desinger. have you booked any vendors yet? you could always do a early fall wedding. the weather will still be warm and you might have more options.

Reception Site Another idea

This is kind of a quiry idea but we actually went to this place and they showed us video of some very lovely romantic weddings...its small so it can only hold about 60-80 people and you have to bring your own catere but its very unique and interesting check it out http://www.waterfrontmuseum.org/ Here is a site for a good caterer in Brooklyn www.naturallydelicious.com Another good site (but not on the water) is the picnic house in Prospect Park). I have witnesses some great wedding there while walking in the park. There is a great Bed and Breakfast in Brookyln called the Akwaaba Mansion...they are listed. I almost forgot...also on the water is Fort Hamilton...the miliary base but they have weddings there and they have a great view of the Verezanno Bride...it would be very lovely for a summer wedding If you are looking for any vendors let me know. Good luck! Jen

If you are willing to head east

Captain Bills in Bayshore may be what your looking for, but it's quite a trek from Brooklyn.
