A friend just got engaged and will begin her reception site search soon. She wants something sleek and modern that holds 300 people or more. She always wants to keep it on Long Island. Any thoughts? I couldnt really think of that many places....

Leonards of Great Neck will be more than accomodating. Also you could try the Woodbury Country Club

I believe the North Ritz Club holds up to 350 people.

I'm not sure. The hotel ballrooms can probably accomodate that.
I think North Ritz Club goes up to 320. I'm not sure about other halls
ETA: it's ahrd to find a big hall. We had to eliminate so many places, because we needed a palce that could hold up to 220, just in case everyone says 'yes'

If she considers the option of not having it in Long Island tell her to check out Russo's on the Bay in Queens and Marina del Rey in the Bronx - they both hold 300+ and are gorgeous halls

I second both of those..they're beautiful!
Also, doesn't the cottage at millerrridge hold 300?
Definitely check out the hotels, Roslyn Claremont, Huntington hilton, Garden City Hotel , etc.

Milleridge Cottage can hold more than 300 actually....We are probably inviting about 350 and we are gtting married there....

-Carlyle on the Green -Flowerfield -Louis XIV -The Garden City Hotel -The Brooklyn Botanical Garden -Land's End--it's cutting it close but I think LE can hold 300+... I also think Villa Lombardi's can.
