I went to a wedding there last year and thought it was just 'ok'. Unfortunately it rained and although they apparently have a nice patio for the cocktail hour, everyone was shepharded into the basement room which wasn't so great. The food was ok but nothing to talk about.
Hi Susan We considered Thatched Cottage but ultimately decided it was going to be too small for 150 people. A friend of a friend had 120 there and said that was a comfortable number. They were happy with the place.
If you are looking for something on the water you might want to take a look at Lands End. We loved it but unfortunately our date was already booked.
I recently got married at the Thatched Cottage, and in the words of all that attended ' It was the best wedding they have been to'...I'm not from NY, so I booked my vendors on my 'gut' feeling. I guess It all depends on what dishes you order and how it is all co-ordinated.. Our food was magnificent my husband and I really went to alot of trouble in co-ordinating and making sure all tastes were accounted for...
