I am planning to get married next fall and I would like some help choosing a reception site. I have a few questions....
When (months) do reception sites typically charge the least per person?
Would anyone be able to give me price ranges for some reception sites in Nassau County? I'm looking at the Carltun, Woodlands, Garden City Hotel, Carlyle on the Green, North Ritz Club, Sandcastle.
Thanks for reading my post!

Re: Reception Sites
Many halls actually keep the same rates year round...but they change rates over time...so if you book now, you get 2006 rates....you book in 4 months, you get 2007 rates. The only difference might be in Friday nights vs. Saturday morning.

Re: Reception Sites
well the off season starts october 1st and goes through the last day in april so if you push your date back a wee bit you could save some money.
also, with most halls the cheapest 'night' is a thursday followed by a sunday-- we are doing sunday night b/c of this! great deal!
other than that-- day weddings are also a good value. i would just meet with each place and see what they are willing to do for you and which you like best.
the cheapest months are from nov- april- i have to say about garden city hotel- it is very expensive but dont get me wrong its so beautiful there but for an off peek its still about $150- per person thats without taxes & gratuity which will be near $200 per person. just to let u know its just an FYI- swan club is really nice- i heard alot of great reviews

Re: Reception Sites
When I was hall shopping, most of the places I looked at were just as expensive in the fall as in the summer. I was told by a few places that October weddings are in such demand and are just about the same price as a June wedding.

I was told pretty much the same thing. For the places we looked at, Nov-April is 'off-peak.' But keep in mind that the day of the week you choose is also a big factor. Saturday nights tend to be a lot more $$$ than a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
