Is anyone thinking of doing a tree on the table and hanging the place cards from it? I'm getting married in the fall and thought this would be a great idea, especially if the place cards are in the shape of leaves, but how would people find their card easy?
Any ideas? Or other unique ways to display place cards? Thanks Ladies!

Re: Reception Table with Place Cards
That's an adorable idea. I am getting candy/carmel apples and tying the place cards to the apples with raffia. I also have a fall wedding.

That is a great idea! My cousin gave out caramel apples as her gift and i loved the idea! But I don't want to copy her...soo i'm trying to think of something different.. I saw something with pinecones and sticking the cards in them, on a table covered with leaves..I thought that was cute too!

Re: Reception Table with Place Cards
I did this at my wedding and just hung ribbon from the tree. The ribbons kind of made a circle around the tree. Then I clipped the place cards to the ribbons using tiny clothes pins. I did it in alphabetical order from top to bottom and then onto the next ribbon in a counter-clockwise fashion. I didn't hear any complaints about people not being able to find theirs.
I would post a picture of what it looked like, which would explain it better, but unfortunately the only good pictures I have are from our professional photographer and they are not allowing me to share any of our photos digitally (see my rant about 'Purchasing Copyright of Wedding Photos from Photographer')!

Re: Reception Table with Place Cards
Cute idea! We had over 300 guests (over 150 placecards) so we couldn't really do that hanging from the tree thing... so we did this instead:

i think you would have to hang them in alphabetical order just like you would if they were on the table... i dont think it would be too hard to find tho... i think its a really good idea... and different!
