Anyone care to offer their reception timeline of events? I'm not exactly sure how to start this thing, but after the bridal party entrance then what?
Speech dinner or dinner speech?
etc... Can anyone offer me their time line as far as when speeches were made, dinner was served, first dance, cake cutting, garter belt, boquet toss...anything else I'm missing, etc...
thanks!

Re: Reception Timeline
Your banquet manager will handle the timeline. If you want something specific during a certain time, then bring that up.
The entrance of the bride and groom lead into the first dance. After the cake cutting, that's usually when the garter toss/bo-k toss take place (gives the waitstaff time to cut the cake). We didn't do this, so this was the time we danced with our parents.
Best man's speech was done during the salad course.
One less thing you have to worry about.

Re: Reception Timeline
Thank you. Totally forgot we had a banquet manager to help us out with this. I guess this is something that gets taken care of closer to the wedding time.

Re: Reception Timeline
Between your banquet manager and your bridal attendant, you won't have to worry about anything. It is their job to make sure you are catered too.
They also coordinate schedules with the DJ, so they know when to announce certain things that will take place.

I totally agree....my banquet manager was amazing and told us what was happening next and where we should be...also if you are having an MC with your DJ, they work with your banquet manager to help things flow... You will be fine.. they take care of everything

Me either! Yikes! What about the people that are having a tent wedding? I have no BM. Is there a timeline posted somewhere?

Re: Reception Timeline
My best friend just got married last weekend and it was the speech right after introductions. I think a lot of places do it this way now so that people are not drunk while giving their speeches.
