Reception Toasts/Speeches

If people are speaking at your reception (FOB/MOH/BM toasts, speeches) are you reading them ahead of time to edit for potentially humiliating content?

DON'T DO IT.

they are toasting you. you deserve to have an honest first time reaction on the day of.. in front of your guests...

it will probably make you laugh, cry and it won't be the same if its the second time you're hearing it!!

we didnt and i dont think u should either. its gonna ruin the surprise aspect of the speech. and hopefully anybody who is speakin knows what is appropriate and inappropriate to say at a toast for a wedding..

DH & I did not proof read the toasts that our BM & MOH made the night of the wedding. & they both made amazing speeches.

I'm not planning to. FBIL and my sister both know how far to go with the jokes in front of everyone.

we had 2 BM and the only thing one asked us was if it was ok that he said sh*t 3 times lol

i'm sooo nervous about FH's brothers (the best men) speeches ... one of them will be fine, but the other has no brain-to-mouth filter and i'm so scared he'll say things that are inappropriate! ...

other than tripping while walking down the aisle, this is the thing i'm most worried about!

but even though i'm EXTREMELY tempted to ask to read it in advance, i don't think i will ....

noooo.... even tho BM did not do that well years ago (so i have heard cause i was not with FH then). He has been coached and his wife who is a bridesmaid promised she would make sure it was good!

I want to be surprised... I feel like it such a nice gesture and the moment wouldn't be as special if we heard it before!

Nope. But BM's wife will look it over just to make sure lol.
