Re: Reception Venue Questions

Definitely ask the

minimum and maximum of people you can have?

the price per person plus tax and gratuities?

Price for Children? Price for Vendors?

what is the tip for the Maitre'D and Bridal Attendant? (Usually a few dollars X # of people attending)

What's included? What's not included? (as far as foods, courses)

How many other weddings will be held at the same time?

How much will the cake cost? If you have a viennese hour is the cake included in the extra price per person?

Thats all I can think of at the moment.....hope that helps

I made a worksheet for every hall with the top filled out and asked these questions at the end. I wrote everything down. HTH

Re: Reception Venue Questions

Find out what their cancellation policy is and what will happen if you don't make your minimum guarantee!!!? Very important, you never know what can happen in a year!

Also ask if they have a la carte packages. Sometimes Rh's offer things you don't even care to have at your wedding. ( ie ice sculptures, gynormous cocktail hours etc....

Re: Reception Venue Questions

Not sure if any of you know this, but we were told, if you book ANYWHERE in Suffolk county (which is true) up until 6 months prior to your wedding date you are intitled to a full refund except $100 for processing fee's.

Hope that helps!!

Re: Reception Venue Questions

I am checking on Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn on Saturday, Douglaston Manor (Queens) on Thursday and Riviera (Bklyn) & Terrace on the Park (Queens) somewhere in between..

i thought i would start out close to home first and then expand out to the island.
