The one aspect of my wedding that I really don't have a grasp on is the DJ... and that's an important one! My FH and I are going to see Starlight Express @ the Leonard's showcase and are very interested in them.
We want something different like a DJ with a percussion band - ANY IDEAS? I need reviews or suggestions about Starlight b/c I only personally know one person who used them (thats how we even know about them).
ALSO, what are people doing about cocktail hour music? Does your DJ provide that or are you getting a separate vendor for that?

I am currently looking for a steel drum band to play during our cocktail hour, our theme is Caribbean Elegance. We are going to have a seperate DJ for the reception...
What I'm confused on is Ceremony Music... I have no clue what I want, or what song I want to walk down to.. I was thinking a Choir. FH thinks that too over the top.

well, i haven't really started looking the DJ yet, so i can't give you any feedback on starlight express. sorry.
as far as cocktail hour music, we might see if we can get the ceremony (acoustic) musicians to play outside during the cocktail hour. i also know that many DJ's offer the 1 hour extension for cocktail hour as part of a bigger package. i've heard from several brides that guests barely notice the music @ the cocktail hour--no one's really dancing or paying attention--so i don't plan to focus on it too much. my friend didn't have ANY music for hers, and the ambiance didn't suffer at all.

We booked with Starlight and we have a steel drum band for cocktail hour. They also have a sax guy and percussion too. See ya at Leonards

I'm loving the steel drum band idea- now that I think about it, my cousin used a steel drum band but hers was @ Captain Bills so the ambiance was appropriate- DO you think I could pull that off at a Vineyard? I was actually thinking about a harpist for the ceremony- grrr.. I hate decisions

I used Starlight Express and I also had a percussionist. Paul was my MC and he was AWESOME!!! They also provided music for the cocktail hour. Check out my review!

I went to a wedding that used Starlight Express. As a guest, I had a good time and didn't go home saying that the band ******.
