Receptions

I am in love with Onteora Mountain House, but it is 2-3 hours away for our guests! Does anyone know a place similar on Long Island/Westchester? Any comments are helpful!
Thanks!

Martha Clara has kind of the the same barn/lodge feel. I went to a wedding at Martha Clara and it was beautiful.

The Old Field Club has gorgeous vaulted wood ceilings and is on the water.

If you really love it, you should do it. Remember, it's YOUR wedding day.

We're getting married about 1 hr 15 min away (like 2 hrs w/ heavy traffic) in CT, and we got a lottttttttttt of cr@p for it at first...

but at the end mof the day, YOU are the one getting married. Don't let your dream go. Those who want to be there will be.

Try The Rivieria in Massapequa...it has that rustic feel with the vaulted cielings.

We looked at a million places before we booked Onteora. There is no place like it. It was our alternative to Lake Placid where we have a family home but that was FAR.

Yes its rustic but its a mile up the mountian. There is no where on long island and the hudson valley that had a deck a mile up the mountain with un obstructed views.

We had no problem getting our guests to travel the hour and a half from the city to get there. It was totally worth it

FM me if you want more info, I'll be happy to help.

Re: Receptions

Thanks everyone! Old Field Club has been our top choice so far but I saw pictures from a friend's wedding at Onteora and fell in love. We are having about 200 people and need to do it on a Sunday (jewish and can't have it on shabbat), so I am concerned about people driving two hours and more. I will keep looking but this and OFC will definitely be high on our list! Thanks again!
