you'll laugh, but i loveeeeedddd 'ceasers way!' it was like the best book ever!
i also heard that a book called 'something borrowed' was great too. my friend was reading that book just a few months ago and raved about it!

Freakonomics - great book for someone who doesn't read much (short chapters etc) and it goes through the hidden patterns... like does a person's first name indicate their success in life, what makes certain people put money in an 'honor system' food basket when others just steal the bagels etc.
His Dark Materials (three books) - its got the harry potter edge to it but more for adults and some conspiracy re: organized religion. Fantasy stuff but really suspenseful
The Red Tent - Every female should read this book (biblical times setting, the bonding of different females etc)
