DH and I want to go in the next 2 months. He really wants to stay in Key West, but it seems like the hotels in the other Keys have better reviews. Where would you recommend?

The Hilton is great. I've stayed there a bunch of times (my brother was a chef there). You are right in the middle of everything (Duval Street) and you have access to an amazing private beach on Sunset Key. FM me if you have any questions!
We stayed at the Hyatt Windward Pointe - absolutely beautiful, nice and clean. Its near the airport - but you don't hear any planes leaving or coming...the pool area is great, and the rooms are very clean. We rented scooters to go into town for the week. I'm glad we didn't stay in the town of Key West - would have been to noisey. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in the Wyndham Reach Resort and we loved it.

thanks everyone. i checked room availability and some of these places are all booked up way in advance. see, i told my Dh that we have to book trips earlier!!! anyway, we have some kind of hyatt membership that is supposed to guarantee that we can get a reservation. i have not tried it yet but i guess i will check into that. any other suggestions?

We actually stayed in West Palm and took trips to the keys.
Stayed at the Doral. Veerrryy Nice!

We LOVE the Curry Mansion Inn on Caroline street. It's a huge Victorian mansion, and it's just steps from Duval. Awesome place. Great complimentary breakfast (omelettes, pastries, cereals, coffee, tea, juices etc) and cocktail hour (live music, snacks, wine/beer/liquor) included in the price!!! Love it there...want to go back!!

We stayed at the Key Lime Inn. It was really nice, but the walk to Duval Street where all the good places are was a little long.

If your in to B&Bs there was the cutest B&B Ambrosia II , it was just so intimate & the staff was very helpful

The Pier House is right at Front Street, kind of at the end of Duval, but it's basically right there!! Definitely not 'far' from Duval, maybe a 2 minute walk! Everything in Key West (in Old Town) is not a bad walk.
