Recommend a vet-update

Ladies, could you please recommend a vet in the Bethpage, Levittown, Plainview area?

We haven't found a vet we love as much as the one we use to go to in Seaford. We moved and DH thinks it's too far to travel with the kitties.

I haven't been happy with the doctors so far.

Help!

Took one of my kitties to the vet since I couldn't get the other one out from under the bed.

They doc was great. But my kitty has a heart condition! He has a murmur and one a scale from 1-6 it's a 3.

We have to get him an ecocardiogram, then get his teeth cleaned.

Probably schedule this for next week.

Re: Recommend a vet

I would say to stick with the one in Seaford and then find a local emergency hospital to keep in mind just in case.

Oh wait, are you saying that it is hard to travel with the kitties in your car? hmmmmm. Not sure in that case.

Re: Recommend a vet

Yeah, DH thinks that traveling 10 minutes is too much for them in the car. They meow their heads off, but they would do that anyway. I would really like to go to the doc in Seaford..she loves our fur babies. The other docs wanted to put them through testing that I found unecessary.

I may just have to make the executive decision on this. I really loved the other doc.

Also, thanks for the Massapequa referral-but that's just as far as the Seaford doc.

DH is being a PIA about this.

Re: Recommend a vet

I travel from Bay Shore to Massapequa for my pets (still at my moms house) and Westbury to Massapequa for my DH dog. I say stick to your regular vet because it is sometimes really hard to find one you are comfortable with and trust. I use Dr. Ned Horowitz and Dr Stephanie Ulrich at the Massapequa Pet Vet on Merrick Road.

Found out my vet is not there anymore, but I made an appt there anyway. Too bad if DH doesn't like it. I really like the office there.

Good thing the kitties are healthy. Gigantic, but healthy.

Re: Recommend a vet

well I'm going back to South Shore..let's see what happens. Told DH that I'm taking them. If it doesn't work out, I will try Massapequa. Thanks for the help.

Re: Recommend a vet

I've brought my dog to the East Meadow Animal Hospital on Newbridge Rd...right off Hempstead Tpke near Burger King. They are very nice there - the last time we went we saw Dr. Thonsen - (516) 735-8822. He's great - older fellow, but really good with my dog.
