I am having a major church dilemma! My FH and I wanted to get married at my church, but they already had our date booked. Then, last night, we went to meet with a deacon at another church who informed us it would be going through renovations (Mt. Carmel, Patchogue) at the time of our wedding. He suggested also booking the church St. Sylvester's, with him doing the ceremony and stuff. I called up St. Sylvester's today and they are also going through renovations and suggested I do not have my wedding there!
Can anyone recommend a catholic church? I am planning on getting ready at my parents house (Holbrook) and am having the reception at East Wind so somewhere in that vicinity would work best.
Thanks! Krista

St. Margaret of Scotland in the selden area seems to be right in the middle of ur two locations..and it's a beautiful church with a really long aisle i don't attend there so i dont really know the requirements & such...but it's beautiful..i've been to many weddings, communions, etc..and i have a ton of friends who attend on the regular...everyone i've ever met there is very nice also. good luck!

St Kilians in Farmingdale is wonderful. I wish we were getting married there. FH is Greek so we are using his church.

Re: Recommend your church!
I'm getting married at St. John's in center moriches, the church is only a few years old, they just re-did it, so there will be no renovations! I knwo someone who got married there and then had their reception at east wind. It is not really a far ride form center moriches to east wind, closer than holbrook. I hope this helps! Good Luck!

Re: Recommend your church!
i don't have a specific church for you, but when you call, i highly recommend stating your situation with your church and the other church that was recommended to you. you need to explain because many churches do not marry non-parishoners. i am sure you will have no problem finding one that will work with you under your situation-- good luck! Also, explain that you would like your priest to be the celebrant... they can work with this to, but it's good to tell them ahead of time.
