Recommend your honeymoon!

We were looking at the Sandals Grande St Lucian but a travel agent friend of mine is saying Sandals is overpriced.

Why do you love your honeymoon resort?

We're going to Sandals St. Lucia - we chose it because we wanted to be somewhere that would make us feel like we're on our honeymoon. Plus the fact that we'll be on a peninsula is amaaaaaazing! And we love that it's allll-inclusive including activities, food, drinks, etc., and we're going to have an amazing view. I can't wait!

Mine is a Disneymoon. We are taking a 7 night western Caribbean cruise. A lot of people think that because it's Disney, it can't be romantic or that there are too many kids, but I know people who have no kids that went on a Disney cruise and loved it.
We are stopping at Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and 2 stops at Disney's private island Castaway Cay. Then we are staying 2 or 3 nights in WDW.

I am not a sit on the beach and do nothing all day person, so with all these stops and excursions I am going to love it!

ETA: we also got engaged in WDW.

Casitas Royale in Riviera Maya

it is one of the most remantic resorts I have ever seen!
Private huts all with ocean views, infinity pools, outdoor showers, jacuzzi's

butler service!
butler service on the beach for lunch and popsicles, suntan lotion, magazines, etc

adults only- mostly couples

amazing sunsets
and truly 5 star food

My 2nd choice would be St. Lucia but if I did St. Lucia, I'd want to go to Jade Mountain or Ladera (another open air resort)
and I'd want 10 days and we don't have 10 days to take

Jamaica - Couples Resorts!

Re: Recommend your honeymoon!

We are doing Sandals St. Lucia - we know a ton (its actually kind of strange how many) of other couples that went and all of them enjoyed it.

None of them said it was over priced - personally I feel we are getting a lot for our money. We have butler service, an amazing room and direct flights out of JFK included all for just about $5K.

They gave us everything we were looking for in a HM so it was good for us. We really liked having the access to the other resorts as well.

ETA: we are going for a week.

I'm a tiny bit higher than this but only because we're staying for 10 days. But yep, around that much is totally reasonable for a Sandals resort in St. Lucia :)

Re: Recommend your honeymoon!

I was just looking at Casitas and Jade Mountain and WOW.

I'm a little concerned about open air though..what if it rains or is really humid? I have asthma and bad allergies. I crank AC from April to October. I love the idea of open air but I wouldn't want to be miserable for the whole week

This is correct - we went to Liberty Travel and they were having a 65% off deal and we actually ended up getting a free day I think too, so we are actually only paying for 6 days. The deals come and go and really aren't on a set schedule. We just went to the travel agent one day and they just so happened to be running a special - we booked that day b/c we didnt know when it would run out.

That's awesome. I think I waited too long to get a good deal. Lots of rooms are booked up for my dates and the flights are few and expensive!

We booked a while ago for a July honeymoon. We had to wait a couple months for the flights to come out b/c we were so early. We had flights on hold through AA but then Jet Blue releasted theirs and they were cheaper and direct.

Are you flxible w/ your dates? Maybe push it back so you can get a better deal.
