Recommend Your Officiant

Can you recommend your officiant, and tell me why you recommend them?

FH is divorced, and we are waiting on the annulment. Looks like it won't come through in time (has been over a year, she recently contested - ugg).

Anyway, I have read about a number of officiants on here, but would like to know specifically why you ladies have made your selections. Thanks!

We used Ben Marlan from Interfaith Ceremonies -- he and his mother Susan Marlan are both officiants, and lovely people. Ben personalized our ceremony to us, was wonderfully soft-spoken and spiritual without making anyone feel uncomfortable. He spent a lot of time working with us to make it just how we wanted it.

We went with Ben instead of Susan just because DH's father wanted us to be married by a man. My family is Jewish but not religious and DH's family is baptist (but DH is not religious at all) so we had the best blending of everything.

I highly recommend you call Susan and speak to her or to Ben if you're interested in a really personal, lovely ceremony. Feel free to FM me if you want any more information.

ETA: Oh, another big plus was that he has a great persona for making something about the bride and groom, not about himself. You remember the ceremony as being something really lovely about the people being wed, not the officiant. That was really important to me.

father david grainson- check out liweddings search. first time we met him we fell in love with him!!! at the end of our meeting he asks if we have any questions and FH goes 'yeah i have one.' so i get all nervous that he is going to ask something wierd or retarded or inappropriate. and he says 'so we know for the future, do you do baptisms too?'
hahaha guess he likes him!!
