i need to have my dress cleaned and packed? does anyone have a place that they went to that did a great job? (my dress is heavily beaded- if that matters?) thanks in advance ...........

Melody Cleaners in East Meadow. They did a great job cleaning and preserving my dress. Total cost was $150. Much cheaper than most places.

I used Nobility Cleaners in Massapequa...they specialize in cleaning and preserving wedding gowns. They got it sooo clean and white and put it in a nice box. It cost $200.

For the girls who used Melody cleaners - did they do the preservation in an acid free box and all that stuff so your dress doesn't turn yellow? I want to get mine cleaned and boxed..but I really don't want to spend a fortune in case I decide to sell it!
My mom She put it in the washing machine while I was on my HM. It came out perfect You can see my pics my dress had a ton of detail it all stayed perfect and it is getting sealed in a SPACE BAG. It will stay fresh forever.

Yes they did. He did a great job making it pretty too and it's in the high quality box and everything.

OMG I just heard another bride did the same thing and it was perfect too! I was banging around on TK (God only knows why) and I saw a post where a BTB purchased a wedding gown at a thrift store for an upcoming play prop. It was a Maggie Sottero and was obviously worn and had a dirty hem but she paid almost nothing for it and was like WTH threw it in the washer. It came out spotless and all beading in place. Good props to the maker too on a quality gown.
I wish I would have known that before sending my maggie out to the Wedding Gown Preservation Co in NYC. My gown came out amazing and the price was around $175.
