Recommendations for a good book to read?

Original post by HoosierCouple

After taking the bar exam in 2 1/2 weeks I am going on a nice girls vacation. Sadly, usually I am doing work of some sort on vaca and this will be one of the first vacations where i have NO work to do.

So please recommend a good book for me to read....

Thanks ladies. VACA HERE I COME!

What kind of books do you normally like to read?

Hmmm funny ones or ones that involve people's real life stories like eat pray love, cheslea handlers book.... i really NEVER get to read so my list is quite low and open to all.

If you haven't read them yet the non-fiction Mitch Albom (sp?) books. Tuesdays With Morrie and Have A Little Faith. Michael J. Fox's books are good as are the Christopher Reeve books. If you have not read The Lecture yet, you MUST read it.

Hope this helps.

The something borrowed, something blue books are really good. Also, chasing harry winston or something was good.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE jodi picoult. House Rules was awesome!

Anything and everything by David Sedaris. You'll be laughing the whole time. Very easy reading and his books are all short stories so it's easy to pick up and read whenever. I also love Augusten Burroughs and Chuck Palahniuk.

Emily Giffin is fun (as many have suggested). Augusten Burroughs 'Running with Scissors' is good.

'This is where I leave you' by Jonathan Tropper is what i'm currently reading and it's funny and real.

'The House at Riverton' was another good book i've read recently.

I also second 'The Help'

'Outlander' by Diane Gabaldon was delicious (it's the first in a series)

My favorite was either the pact, my sisters keeper or plain truth.
