recommendations for bridal stores?
I'm going to start looking for dresses!!!!!!
I went to Paradise in Patchogue just to look and plan on making an appointment to start trying on. I'm looking to spend under $1,000. Any recommendations of good places to go to that are also good at alterations and in my price range?

Bonaventure on Franklin Ave. in Garden City has a lot of beautiful dresses under $1000, and the service was great there.

Re: recommendations for bridal stores?
As most brides on this board already know... I can't say enough good things about Angel Bridals in East Islip. My dress was under $400, alterations cap was $150. Dress arrived in 2 1/2 weeks!I originaly found the dress at Estelles dressy dresses in Farmingdale. $350! I chose to buy from Angel because Estelles doesn't do alterations and they are the most wonderful women you could imagine!. My MOH got her wedding dress at Estelles and had no problem.
I love my dress and was very surprised by the price.
Check them out!

Try Princess Bridals in Farmingale. The ladies in there are so sweet and very helpful. You can also try Lilette's in Baldwin.

Re: recommendations for bridal stores?
I've had good experiences at Lynbrook Bridal Center (on Sunrise Highway) - as a MOH buying a BM dress, the bride had no problems with her dress, so I chose to go there too....For my 7/3/03 wedding my dress is in already...it only took about 2 wks b/c it was ordered as a sample b/c they didn't have the dress I wanted in stock. Also there is a shoe store called Shoe Elegance across the street from there that is excellent....Yes, they may be a bit more expensive than other places, but they are very attentive and make sure your shoes fit before you leave...Bride, MOTB, MOH, BM, etc....

bridal suite
Try Bridal Suite of Centereach. Amy and Raquel were great! I got my gown and MOH's dress there. They carry a pretty good selection in different price ranges and there is no 'hard sell'. p.s. BS of Centereach is NOT affiliated with BS of Patchogue. I wasn't thrilled with BS of Patchogue at all!

Re: bridal suite
I would NOT reccomend Bridal Suite of Bay Shore-I got my dress there, and I've had nothing but problems.

Burton's bridals in melville, not the biggest selection or the fanciest store, but nice people with great prices.

Re: recommendations for bridal stores?
I had a great experience at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I had heard that they push pricey dresses there, but my bridal consultant, Maddy, listened to exactly what I was looking for, brought me beautiful gowns in my price range, and I bought my dress there. I would go there once you know what style you like- its such a diva store its worth the experience even if you dont get a dress there. If you dont know what style you like, try a place like RK Bridal in NYC, they have over a thousand gowns in every style imaginable.

I got my dress at Bridal Suite in Huntington off of 110. Very helpful ladies and very reasonable prices. They are not affiliated with Bridal Suite in Bayshore, which I would not recommend! Horrible experience there in June when i was in my SIL wedding.
