Recommendations for Rehearsal Dinner in NYC

We are thinking of having our rehearsal dinner in New York City and beginning to look around for places. Any recommendations? The number will most likely be close to 50. Looking at any range of prices right now. Thanks in advance for the help :)

We did ours at Brasserie 8 1/2. They have a beautiful private room and we had a sit-down dinner - 3 courses.

We were thinking about Brasserie, which like Brasserie 8 1/2 is run by Restaurant Associates. Do you think you could FM me details regarding Brasserie 8 1/2? Did you check both of them out?

Thanks!

Right now I'm just trying to get a feel for what is out there and can accomodate private parties. A lot of our favorite restaurants cannot accomodate a large party. I know we want sit down and private and separate from the rest of the restaurant and as for food most likely tapas, Italian, French, fusion, etc.

Yes, we looked at both. Brasserie however did not have a separate room - they would just block off the back section of Brasserie. I will see if my husband kept any of the information since he took care of Rehearsal Dinner arrangements.

Re: Recommendations for Rehearsal Dinner in NYC

We are having our rehearsal dinner in NYC for about 50 people also.
We looked into 212 restaurant, Blue Water Grill, Tuscan, Tribeca Grill, City Hall, Cascina, Beacon, Eleven Madison Park, River Cafe, and a bunch of others. They quoted us anywhere from $50-110/per person plus the bar. Most of the places we looked into has a private room.
Right now we are between 212 restaurant and Pfiff (the restaurant we got engaged at). With Pfiff we are going to rent out the entire restaurant (it is not that big holds 65 people max).

My FH is in charge of the rehearsal dinner so he has most of the info with him. FM me if you want me to find out more specifics from him.

Le Madeline on 43rd and 9th has a really cute indoor garden that I know they rent out. FH had a luncheon there and I think it was around $40pp. That did not include an open bar, just wine.
