Recommendations for string quartet and band- and cost?

Hi all,

We've booked our venue, we're meeting with photographers (thanks to the great advice we got here) and now it's time to think about music.

We're thinking about having a string quartet or trio play for the ceremony, and then switching to a live band at the reception.

How much did you budget for live music? Does anyone have recommendations for classical quartets or wedding bands? Also, if you had a live band for your reception, what did you do about an emcee? Who announced the dances, speeches, etc?

Whew, lots of questions! I look forward to your excellent replies. :)

we booked with art Strings quartet just for ceremony I dont know the price but im sure if you email they will rpely quickly

Check out Capriccio Ensemble - they are a LI wedding vendor. Natalie has been SO fabulous to work with and super helpful. I am having a trio and i think we're paying about $750 for an hour.

We are having a live band, and they do all of the announcements. We are using a band from Hank Lane. The prices range depending on how many pieces you want.

we booked with them too- we are paying the same amount but for a harp and violin duo for the church. they sound amazing

Definitely check out M.A.S. Music for the string quartet or trio… Marie was amazing, we had a trio at our church and it sounded BEAUTIFUL! She was great to work with, i loved her!
