I just got my final bill for my 1/31 wedding and it says, recommended Executive Gratuity $1400-1800... what is this? Who does this go to.. is anyone tipping $1500 to executives at their catering facility?

Yeah.. and we are paying 20% gratuity on top of it. the only thing I can think of is that it's for the banquet manager & the captain? who knows.

Re: Recommended Executive Gratuity?
On top of all the gratuities already in your bill, you are 'supposed' to tip your maitre-de. I have heard the tip is between $1 and $2 per person.
Edited to say: So unless you are having a 700 guests, $1400 is obscene.

So if I'm having 150 people- that would be 150- we were thinking of giving him 2 bills- but $1400 clams??? That's my f******* rent!

sassy, I know it would not be nice to do, but if it says 'recommended' you don't have to pay that full amount... Just read the contract...
