After pre-cana last night, the deacon recommended that everyone go to confession before the wedding. FH & I are going tomorrow. FH has never gone (he went through RCIA, so it wasn't a required sacrament), and I haven't gone in awhile.
Does anyone know what happens/what we do?

Re: reconciliation
go and then say 'forgive me father for i have sinned...it has been __ years since my last confession' (your DH can say this is my first confession)
and then you just talk to the priest and take it from there.
at the end he will ask you to say the Act of Contrition. if you know it, say it. if you dont, you might want to look it up so you have an idea of what to say
then he will absolve you and give you penance (usually a few prayers for you to do after you leave confession)
if you go to a church where you sit so there is a partition, it is less nerve-wracking. but usually i wind up in front of the priest....
but its all good.
good luck!
