Recruiters..Where are you?

I was wondering if anyone can share what the average salary is for a recruiter..ranging from little experience to moderate.. You can FM me if you want.

Re: Recruiters..Where are you?

After my last job I was offered an entry-level recruiting job at a temp. agency for $30,000 (with a Master's in HR that was not enough for me). In the large company where I worked before, different members of HR took turns attending recruiting events, and we all took turns going to the college we graduated from to recruit. Where I work now, they don't have specific recruiters either.

Wow, I was working at a recruiting firm with no degree and making 40k plus bonus like 5 years ago I know its going to be more since we touched on what I was making pre degree and they still want to interview now..but I clarified that I expect more since I now have two degrees but the figure I just cant come up with.

Well, this was entry-level for a temp. agency on LI. I definitely would think ones in NYC doing more corporate, high-end recruiting would be more. I was surprised at how low it was, but it was one of the agencies on 110 in Melville...They have a ton of turnover too. Sorry couldn't be of more help.

The job I am going for is in LI..really dont want to commute to the city but thats whats making it hard. I know I have to compensate for not being in the city anymore but at the same time I still gotta pay my bills and support my dooney habit

I was a recruiter in my Uncle's legal placement agency in the city for 5 years. I left 7 years ago and I was making 40 then. I think that was average at the time.

it depends on whether or not you are working for an agency vs. corporate, if you are doing a retained search, if you are doing contract vs. direct hire...there are a lot of variables...if also depends on whether you are recruiting entry level placement, mid management or executive level...

Yeah, I should add I was dealing with the temps = more $$$ for the firm, but less prestige.
