Recurring dream

Recurring dream

every night this week, I had been having the same dream. I am running away from someone (a man) that is trying to kill me.

the backdrop and the person is always the same...it's an empty house (or possibly warehouse) with lots of stairs. he catches me, I manage to break free-run and hide, and then he catches me again.

every night I feel more and more exhausted. I just can't shake this dream. the first night I woke up petrified. I thought there was someone in the house.

now I am just getting frustrated. and it's making me feel very sad when I wake up. and that feeling too, is getting harder and harder to shake.

I am afraid that if I keep dreaming this, I will get tired of running and he will kill me in my sleep.

they say if you die in your sleep, you never wake up.

can you make yourself go back to sleep and 'dream' that you turn around and kill him? they say you can resolve your dreams that way!

usually I can. I am generally very good at changing my dreams.

this one, I can't.

how could they ever know this though, since all the people who supposedly dreamt they died in their sleep would then need to be dead?

Try not to eat or exercise too close to going to sleep. Those are the nights where I have the most crazy dreams. I hate recurring dreams. They always freak me out. Like, why is my brain doing this to me?

i can't take any type of cold medicine at night, no matter how sick i feel bc i will get the sickest dreams. it is almost embarassing that my mind can think up such terrible things! and the dreams will affect me for the rest of the day

that's what I was thinking. Also, I have had dreams where I was done in before. Not enjoyable.

Usually there is something unsettled when you have a recurring dream like that.

Sounds horrid. For real.

You should look it up in a dream dictionary.
Running
Empty house
man killer
I'm sure they are all symbolic, and probably to something less scary seeming.

The description is geeky. It's about people with superpowers.

That is not true. I was killed in a dream - poisoned - when I was 21.

Whatever you're running from in your waking life, your dream is just warning you. Telling you that you're gonna tire yourself out if you don't face it.
