Red BM in for a spring wedding?

I know I have tons of time (or so everyone tells me) but I started to check out dresses for my bridesmaids already. There will be four maids and my MOH. All but one are short brunettes. I was origionally thinking a pastel blue, since we're trying to plan a May '08 wedding. But we like bright colors better. Would a deep red/burgandy be too dark a color for a spring wedding? Any suggestions? (Purple and lavendar have already been shot down by my sister, lol).

i think do whatever you want! if u choose a darker color u can brighten it up with light flowers. im doing brown dresses in may with a light pink sash and pink flowers....whatever makes u happy!
