Anyone know what the rates look like now that Abigail Kirsch has reduced them for 2010? I am interested in The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, or one of her Westchester locations.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
By the way, I'm new. Hi everyone!

I met with them in April, do you know when they reduced their rates?

Recently. It says only weeks ago on the AK web site.
What were you quoted if you don't mind my asking?

I went to the lighthouse and was quoted $245ph. (plus 22%grat & tax) Didn't include much to be honest.
2 stations at cocktail (set up in 4 diff locations, but all duplicates of the 2 selections) 4 passed Hors D'vours (bad spelling)
4 course dinner salad app 2 choice entre dessert
++ valet parking, ++ top shelf ++ more food

Wow! Did $245 include open bar? Damn, so I can't imagine it would be much cheaper. Forget that.
What did (or haven't) you decide on? I really don't want to go above $150, but I have a feeling that's going to be next to impossible in NYC. ::sigh::

Open bar yes, top shelf no.
I'm getting married at the engineers country c lub, in roslyn.
It doesn't hurt to call the lighthouse, although i can't see it being that much less, they will quote you over the phone. I am not sure the price, but try tribeca rooftop. I have heard great things.

I would have LOVED to get married at one of her venues, but the price was out of our range. Are you only looking into NYC venues or are you willing to look into other boroughs and Long Island?

Re: Reduced Rates for 2010 Wedding (Abigail Kirsch)
Hi! We went to see the Manhattan Botanical Gardens and I have the following rates from our visit:
In April 2010 or November/December 2010, a Saturday night (with 175 min guests) was quoted at $176 w/o service charge and taxes included.
A Saturday from May through October 2010 was only a few dollars more, at $180/pp w/o service, etc.
Sunday twilight in April or Nov/Dec 2010 was $158, Sunday twillight in May-October 2010 was $178/pp.
I can tell you Sunday PM too if you want but figured I didn't need to list it .
The 'reduced' rates they advertise for 2010 only apply to Saturday nights, and what I listed above was already reduced. For all the other times, they were throwing in an enhancement hors d'oeurve or add'l station--that was all.
FYI--We ended up with Water's Edge in Long Island City and I couldn't be happier!
Good luck!

I just realized you requested Chelsea Piers or Westchester location--Chelsea Piers happens to be their priciest venue but Westchester should be less expensive than what I quoted...either way, good luck!

I always thought that the bontanical gardens were supposed to be the most expensive AK venue.
Oh well. Woulda coulda shoulda.
I think a lot of places came down in price this year due to the economy.
