Reef Shoes

Reef Shoes

FH and I are going to Hawaii for our HM and I have a bunch of Hawaii books that keep telling me to get Reef Shoes. So the only Reef Shoes I know of are flip flops which are well made which I have and love but I don't see how those would help me in the water. Does anyone know what these books might be referring to? Are they plain old water shoes or is it something else? TIA

i would think they are water shoes..the ones that hug your feet.

maybe those ones with the flip flop bottoms but have those velcro straps that go around the top of your foot and the ankle??

I would think a type of water shoes. Teva has a pair. Regular brand name reef sandals are mostly flip flops...they are some of the most comfy ones that I own, but to walk out in the ocean, they must mean a type of water shoe.

I think they mean just plain old water shoes. FH and I bought them when we went in '07. They never even left the hotel rooms. We found that we didn't need them. Most beaches are not that rocky. The beaches we went to with lots of coral were the beaches we went to in order to snorkel so we had fins on anyway. I'm not even packing mine this time.

This is completely unrelated to the shoes but I just had to ask... Our wedding days r a day apart and we're also going to Hawaii so we might even be at the same places at the same time
Mind sharing a few HM details or recommendations?
