Can anyone recommend a good refrigerator for a house? What brand? We're looking for a side by side so we get the Ice maker and water on the door? We're not looking for stainless steel or anything, or anything that costs an arm and a leg. We want something good that'll last!
Thanks!

Re: Refrigerators
I have no advice on a good one or a bad one. Just when we where looking at fridges the side by sides where smaller especially the freezer not wide. Like at thanksgiving u couldnt fit a whole turkey in there. Just make sure u get one to accomidate things that you want to freeze!

Check out PC Richard's website. Make sure you measure your refigerator space before buying. You can put in your space dimensions and they will give you the list of all the available models.
The space in my co-op is small (I knew this). And for me to get a sidebyside... I had to find the smallest model available. It barely fit.
Wound up with a GE which works fine for me.

Re: Refrigerators
To buy on eBay from Sears/Best Buy don't you have to do a pick up? Is there a pick up for LI? What can I search under to find them...'sears' + an appliance type brought up a ton of local stores from around the country!

Re: Refrigerators
depends...some of them will deliver depending on the zip code...the one in Atlanta would have delivered to us had we gone that route!
Go browse the appliance section...the Sears shows which branch it is IE: 'SEARS Atlanta'

Re: Refrigerators
We just got a 16.8 top freezer Fridgidaire at Jays in Levittown and it is beautiful. I would either go with hotpoint, GE, or Firdgidaire. Hotpoint is actually made by GE. Try PC Richards...They will probably give you the best price. Scott

I don't think I would buy an appliance on ebay. You have to be careful and check with the manufacturer if they honor an 'internet warranty'. The internet seller has to be authorized.
Besides... the other stores like Richards and Best Buy are competitive with their prices. They will do what they can to get your business (especially Richards).

Re: Refrigerators
If space is the consideration, they now also make the ones with the freezer on top that has the water/ice maker. FH and I went to the Best Buy near the Walt Whitman mall and they had a great selection of fridges. I'm reminded of the commercial that the dad is trying to fit his homemade '# 1 Dad' mug under the ice dispenser. What everyone says is so true, just make sure it has all the features you want
GE is very reputable and makes a nice selection. GE Fridges

they came with manufacturers' warranty and whatever damage they incurred in shipping, or as a return, or as a floor model was stated in the 'auction'

Re: Refrigerators
Ok just be careful when you buy from ebay. Buying a floor model from Best Buy Or Sears is no biggie cause as far as the warranty is concerned... even though its a floor model... its still considered a 'new' item so you get the full warranty from the day you purchased it.
Here's a good example.... I needed an A/C for my 2nd bedroom where my elliptical sits. Didn't want to die of heat while I was working out. Went down to PC Richards last weekend. They had one sitting outside... floor model out of box. 10k BTU Frigidaire for $99 buks! New it was $199.
Not only did I pick it up for $99 buks and got a full manufacturers warranty on it... I got the salesman at PC Richards to throw in a 2yr extended warranty for free. (I'm such a haggler hehehehe) The final price of the A/C came out to $59 buks for the A/C when you added in the $40 warranty.
