Regarding my previous post about Jade the make-up artist- Please read.
I posted a few days ago (in a thread about make-up artists) about a phone conversation that I had with Jade the make-up artist (about how I found her rude and uninterested on the phone).
I would just like to let everyone know that Jade read my post and contacted me regarding it (there's alot of that going around lately). I was unable to come to the phone, but FH took a message from her and she said that she was sorry and she was having a bad day (FH also thinks he remembers her saying something about some one being sick or in the hospital). I will not call her back because I don't really want to get into it with her, but I felt the need to share that she called to apologize.
Jade, if you are reading this, apology accepted. I am not one to hold a grudge, and while I am not going to call you back, I do feel that I have done the right thing by you since I am posting the fact that you called to explain.
For everyone else- consider this even more proof that the vendors are 'listening in' and using this board to do with what they wish. On one hand I appreciate the apology and feel she is intitled to defend herself, but more and more, I feel that there is no privacy here. While we certainly can't stop vendors from reading our posts, I don't know how I feel about being contacted regarding a post I made. I feel like I am a child who has to explain their actions, or as if I have to answer for each and everything I say. That is not the kind of environment that I want to be in. I want to be free to share what ever experiences I have without getting a phone call the next day.
This is nothing againt Jade personally, just a general complaint that I have (especially after the whole susanlynn mess).

this is getting absolutely ridiculous. I cannot believe vendors are digging so much as to find out who is posting what messages and calling you if they are unhappy with your response. I would suggest everyone change their profile info and do not use your real names... To respond online is one thing, but to go so far as to call you on the phone, is just way out of line. In my opinion, if any vendor was to do that to me, I would not do business with them.

Re: Regarding my previous post about Jade the make-up artist- Please read.
I know I don't post very often, and when I do it's very generic and this whole situation is the reason why. My FH's career is in computer security, so he is really sensitive about me divulging personal information online. Sometimes I feel 'left out' because I don't 'share' as much as everyone else....if a topic comes up where I feel like I can help, I do. Usually, it's salon-type help like hair or makeup referrals because i work for a salon supplier and that's what I know about.
I wish there was something LIWeddings could do, like call these people up and claim that they're harrassing their members or something. It's horrible, and appears to not be an isolated incident since this is twice in one week now.

Re: Regarding my previous post about Jade the make-up artist- Please read.
There is legal about calling a bride after reading a post. If LIWeddings GIVE OUT our personal info then that would be bad business, not legal. When you sign up you 'agree' to their privacy policies.
On a personal note: I think that vendors do and should pay attention to what brides say about them. But use it as a way to improve their business, not attack specific brides. If a number of brides complain about the quality of their product they should use what we say to improve it. I also think the vendors should take all posts with a grain of salt. We are in the middle of planning our weddings and sometimes a small detail seems really big at the time, but a year later we would not even remember it. I don't think that Jade calling was horrible. She already had the phone number and had already spoken to the bride before. BUT would she have called if she didn't read a negative post? That is the problem. Why aren't vendors concerned about the quality of their service without a negative post. I also work in computer security but I don't think posting my reception location, or where I got my dress is a big deal. I would never post bank or credit card account info, SS# or other type of financial info on line though.
Anyway just my 2 cents.

This is crazy. who the hell do these vendors think they are to call you at your home????? i can understand them reading the posts to find out what is being said about their business, but to call us becuase they do not like a post is just plain out rude! I could understand if they read your post and felt they wanted to offer an explaination to you, THATS WHAT THE VENDORS BOARD IS FOR! Its really funny how these vendors are searching to find our phone numbers, yet I have been married a little over a month and still being flooded with regular mail by all of them.. they obviously didnt search to hard for my WEDDING DATE!!!! How would these vendors like if all of us called them to tell them how unproffesional they are for calling brides.. i bet they would never call a bride again regarding a post!

Re: A slightly different opinon
I am sure that I will be bashed for this, but I have to say that in the case of this vendor (Jade) I have a different opinion.
I would like to say first of all that this is a public board and is is foolish to believe that there is any privacy when you post here. The only way to ensure your privacy is by not using your real information when registering for this site and by limiting the personal information you include in your posts (especially e-mail addresses).
Secondly, the vendors pay to advertise here. Since these are their advertising dollars it would follow that they want to see what brides are saying and doing. After all, the wedding business is their bread and butter. If I were a vendor (which I can assure you I am not) I would be reading the posts here too. This board is a great way for vendors to keep up with their competitors and to keep up with what brides on LI are looking for. Doing this makes basic business sense.
For the record I will say that I do NOT agree with vendors hunting down your personal information to harrass you or to try to sell you something. However, I believe that in this case it was neither of those. It seems to me that perhaps the vendor was having a personal crisis of some sort when the call came and had no idea that she had come across the way she did. Once she realized it, from reading the post, she called to apologize and explain. I am certainly not excusing unbusinesslike behavior, but I think she did the right thing. It was far more personal and appropriate for her to call you than to simply post an apology on this site. I think it's too bad that Jade is being blasted for doing the right thing. There are a lot of decent vendors on this site (I was fortunate enough to use some of them for my wedding last year) and they certainly do not deserve to be painted with the same brush as those who engage in unscrupulous business practices.
Just my opinion ladies. No offense intended to anyone's post.

Re:
This si unbelievable! I can't beleive that the vendors would do this. It makes them look incredibly unprofessional and if they ever called me at home I would let them know how I feel. I am sorry that we are being 'invaded' like this. This was supposed to be a place where we could make friends with people and share planning ideas not a place where we can be hunted down and harrassed for voicing our opinions.

Re: A slightly different opinon
Wendy, While i aggree that Jade did do the right thing, i feel that when you are in business or you own your own business, you really cant 'have a bad day' and be rude to potential clients as this can be the consequences...
I agree that the vendors of this board should read the brides helping brides side (ie.. to get a feel for public opinion and to see how to improve business, for some this just not seem to be the case. In the incedent that occured with susanlynn, she should never have been subjected to such a phone call. She is a far better lady than i would have been, i would definatly told this co. where to stick it, and then publicly displayed their name for such a horrible business manor... This board is here for us to share ideas, and to share experiences with different vendors. These opinions will not always be glowing ones, and i think we can all here benefit from finding out in advance for ourselves or close family and friends who out their is not worthy of our money... But just because i post an unfavorable review does NOT give the co. the right to call me to blast me on the phone for it...
And just my opinion, if Jade had a bad day and this is how she reacts to clients, what if she was to have a 'bad day' the day of your wedding? at least anyone out their searching for someone in her business can take that into concideration...
Again this is all just my opinion and i hope i have not offened you..

Re: Bride02
I read in Taraalisa's post that Jade had perhaps mentioned that someone was in the hospital. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt. From the post it did not seem to me that she was trying to excuse a 'bad day' as you call it. Perhaps she had just learned that someone was very ill or had some other horrible news. You never know. I was simply trying to make a point about distinguishing between the horrible behavior of another vendor and this situation which I think are completely different. In my opinion I think she did the right thing in calling back to apologize.

Re: Regarding my previous post about Jade the make-up artist- Please read.
I just want to clarify one point. I am not sure if she had my phone number because I called her. I don't remember if I gave it to her or not. She may have gotten it off of her caller ID, or she may have gotten it from LIWeddings, or, she may have gotten it directly from me (it was a while ago so I can't remember). Either way, she read my post, checked my name and then called me, but I do not know for sure that LIWeddings gave her the info.
