My fiancee and I were thinking of registering at Liberty Travel for our Honeymoon(like water sports, candlelight dinners, dinner cruises....etc..) ...any experiences, thoughts, information on registering with Liberty Travel?
Any information would be so helpful :)

I want to do it too but I think we're going to end up going with an all inclusive place and I'm not sure how much people can get us. There would definitely be a couple things like snorkeling or swimming with the dolphins, but the rest of the stuff would be included and you can't really 'register' for $700 nights at the hotel can you? Have other girls done this for all inclusive places? What did you do?

when you register for your honeymoon you don't actually have to use the money towards what people buy for you like excursions and spa treatments. That is just a cute way of setting up the website registry. You actually get that money and put it towards paying for the honeymoon or you can keep it for yourself for the extras. All the money is put towards whatever you want it to go to.
I am actually doing that because me and mu FH are paying for our wedding ourselves. We already live together and don't really need all that stuff so the honeymoon registry will help us afford an amazing vacaztion.

I am actually in the same situation. We've lived together for 4 years, so when I went to register there wasn't much for me to add. I don't want to end up with gifts that people think are nice but are completely useless to me. That's why I think a honeymoon registry is a great idea. I'm just worried that the older guests may not like it so much.

This is all true....of course ill register for china and all that 'stuff' we're supposed to register for....but I live in my condo now...and won't be buying a house for a few years so we were thinking that honeymoon stuff would be the best for us at this point in our lives

Did everyone use Liberty Travel for this? Do you have to pay any fees for this?
Thanks.

yeah you can but you dont actually get gc's or anything for the tihngs ppl pay for. You get the cash for it. They add up all the things ppl got for you and you get a check actually in that amount.
I know somebody who did this, i'll be honest and say i heard alot of mixed reactions. First of all older guests dont like it, its not something they're used to. And even younger guests. If you do this then i say at least register at a store too.

Re: Registered at Liberty Travel??
We did Honeyfund.com . It is free for you and your guests. I would not suggest doing it through a travel agency because they take a percentage, which is unnecessary.
A few of my guests DO think it's tacky- but guess what? I don't care. If they don't like it they can pick out whatever toaster they want to give me (or not come at all). The reality is that a lot of brides pick out items from a registry that are easy to return- like expensive candlesticks and picture frames. That way they end up with cash anyway. (And I think that's silly and just catering to a bunch of old fogies who still think that girls live at home till marriage and daddy pays for the wedding).
Oh- and on Honeyfund each guest prints out a certificate that names the item(s) they picked (and not the price) so that they can present it to you/ put it in your card.

well anything on a registry somebody would want. Everything on my registries i wanted so didnt return anything for cash. And the only place you can return something for cash is BBB, the other stores wont give you cash for any returned items.
And its not about people thinking you still live with daddy until marriage. But when i got the registry i was at that very moment paying for my own HM. We paid for our own wedding and on top of that had to pay for the HM. We didnt fly first class, and on the registry it was to upgrade to 1st class, no offense but if im not paying for myself to do it then why should i pay for someone else to fly first class, if its too expensive then just don't do it. And if a HM that is a reasonable price then ok but this HM was europe and more than 1 location in europe. So i was like ok if you cant afford it then maybe dont do it, if i saw an island it would be different but why go so far out there and then expect others to pay for the HM. PLUS i knew you dont actually get the gc's for the things we pay for, its cash they got, so i knew i was basically giving the person cash, i knew it was basically false advertising lets say. Its like if somebody for their shower said no gifts just cash. If i didnt know that small fact then maybe i would feel differently. Also if there was also a store registry i wouldnt mind, but not to feel like i HAVE to contribute towards the HM.

I have a dozen points that knock out your reasoning but I'm not going to bother.
Is there a post on this entire board that you HAVEN'T responded to in .2 seconds? (pretty much ALWAYS smothering people with your outdated, suburban housewife, patriarchal ideology...)
PS I wasn't even responding to YOU. Your post wasn't even UP yet when I responded... So, why don't you take a step back for once?
Jeeze... (and I might only have a handful of posts but I read this board enough to see the pattern)

suburban housewife wow that is pretty funny. First of all i guess i would have to be from the suburbs for that to be true which i am not, and i am very far from that. Outdated, patriarchal ideology? if that wasnt far from the truth maybe i'd actually sit here and prove it wrong but that is the funniest thing ive heard considering i am far from it.
You dont have to respond to somebody specifically for them to have a response to what you say, anybody can respond to any post. Its what happens when post on a MB
I gave my honest opinion and i spoke about somebody SPECIFICALLY in my situation. The site you mentioned isn't bad actually, forgot to include that in my suburban wife post since you actually get what people registered for. And like i said, if i didnt know ahead of time that people got the cash instead of what i was actually purchasing for them such as dinner or a massage, i would've been fine with it. But it's different when a whole registry is set up and making me think i am paying for a specific thing and its far from the truth. If it was the site you used and i knew you actually got what i paid for then I wouldn't mind.
