registered at too many places????

First, I registered at bed, bath and beyond. Then i registered at bloomies and crate and barrel. then i found out that the pattern i registered for at BBB is not at their stores, not available in many places, but can be ordered for shipment through BBB. i'm also registered for other things at BBB. then, i found out that fortunoff has the pattern. so, i registered for some of it at fortunoff, in case people want to see what they are buying.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT I now have regsistries at bloomies, crate and barrel, BBB and fortunoffs (4 places, 3 of which are accessible through weddingchannel.com). At fortunoffs, i only have a few items, but still!

PLUS, there is a small local store that I have LOVED for years. They have no website but I really want to register for some things there and the guests from my area already like this store. That would be 5 stores (4 of which are online)!!!! if someone else did this, i might have said it was tacky---. Is it way over the top????????

My family was concerned that people may not buy the pattern from BBB if they cannot see it.

i have to admit, my mom got a shower invitation yesterday and when we opened the envelope so many registry cards fell out that we were a little taken back. JMO

but if there is stuff at all the stores then go for it

Someone posted a good idea a while ago.... register at as many places as you want, but don't send all cards to everyone. Send 2 ro 3 max to each person so there will be variety. And for the local store, send them to your friends who know the place - it make it easier and hopefully you'll get everything you want.

I am registered at 4 places, and i was paranoid it would look tacky. Then, I got an invite to my cousins shower (very classy gal) and she has registered at 4 places. I asked everyone in my family what they thought, and they said they were happy for the variety. no one seemed to think it was tacky. I would not suggest putting 4 different slips of paper in with the invite - that comes across wrong, but have it printed nicely on one piece of paper.

I've stopped worrying about what people will think - all the stuff I wanted/needed was at so many stores - I had to do 4 registries.

Don't stress it.

I like that 'only send a few cards' idea

I know that some family member can afford bb&b and some will def go for something at fortunoffs so i can please everyone with that idea
