Is anyone excited about registering? At first I was dreading this, but I think I may start early, work on one thing, leave and go back another time to work on another, so I'm not doing it all at once and getting frustrated.
Also is everyone registering for china? FI and I are thinking of just registering for everyday dishes.

Re: Registering
I am very excited about registering...although FH won't let me do it until our 1 year mark I know several people who only registered for everyday dishes. I am going to register for fine china, but I would rather find a less expensive one.

Re: Registering
I registered because both of our families were bitching to our parents and we were feeling the heat. Neither of us got an engagement present ($$$) from anyone.
So we registered at BB&B a few months ago and NO ONE bought us a thing (they still haven't) because they wanted to buy us 'good stuff.' Last week we registered at Fortunoff and put down good china and flatware. Still nothing bought. I think we're going to have to have a small eparty to get anything from our registries before my shower next summer.

We had SO much fun registering!!! I just let FI hold the gun and he was as happy as a pig in ****... he was shooting anything he could find!!! We went to both BB&B and Macys... then when we got home I went online and fine tuned it a bit (really just added more stuff that I didnt see in the store!)

Re: Registering
We already registered at Target (how sick are we?) and then we're going to register elsewhere, maybe a HM registration for things we want to do once we get the HM plans done, which we can't even agree on a location yet.
I was thinking of registering for some wedding stuff, (cake servers, champagne glasses) but figured this is the stuff you normally get at the shower, anyway, right??

Re: Registering
Yes, but people often register for it so that you get what you want, as opposed to relying on someone else's taste.

Re: Registering
We just got back from registering! I started online at Fortunoff's and then we went to the store to add. I was very surprised that FI had so much fun too.. he told me that I can't go back w/ o him to fine tune it and add more.. he WANTS to be there!! One problem though--we aren't agreeing on silverware!

Re: Registering
I didn't like registering at all. we did do china and everyday dishes. I picked out kate spade, but not the most $$ ones. If we don't get them all, I still get 10% off them, so it's not too bad.

Re: Registering
I cannot wait to register. And honestly I would never buy fine china for myself so I will register for it. You may not use it now... but you may likely in the future.

Re: Registering
I haven't yet, I'm afraid of the stuff getting discontinued-it's still over a year away. But I guess you girls already did...so maybe me and my sister should start working on it. (As long as I have plastic utensils and paper plates FH is set, so he said he's going to miss registering)

That was my biggest fear too..but my China pattern has been around for 13 years so I think I'm good.

Re: Registering
We did tons of registering at the one year mark...I didn't have to register for fine china bc I was given my grandma's! The only bad thing about after registering is that you must keep a close eye on it. There are things on my registry that have been discontinued (ie coffee maker, pots. glasses) so you need to update it when that happens

Re: Registering
We registered for fine china - FH has everyday stuff that's totally adequate.
I really dreaded it, but once you get into it, it can be fun.
