FH & I are thinking about egistering online for Crate & Barrel, BBB, Macy's & Tiffany(if we can. Are there any pros' about registering in the store? Like any incentives ? Freebies?
Thanks for your advice

Re: Registering
There may be more things in the store than shown in the online catalog. Also, with BBB, I liked that they had 'experts' in each area of the store to explain which brand is better/more popular or which appliances we should get.

I know linens in things gives you 10% off anything that is not purchased off your registry

Re: Registering
I registered at BBB & Fortunoff and there were no incentives for online vs. instore. I actually set up the registry online first. You can always go into the store and on. Same thing vice versa.

Re: Registering
I don't think there are any incentives for registering at the store itself. I think the benefit is that there is probably a bigger selection, and you can see and hold things to know if you really like them.

Re: Registering
We also registered at Crate & Barrel and BBB. Did both completely online. It was really easy to do online.
Went into C & B first to look at the plates and stuff we liked but then did the whole thing online when we got home. FH was not into the whole scanning thing.

I think they only do them in February.
I loved the C&B registry the most of the 3 places we registered at for a few reasons. Everything they carry in the store is on the website - not true of my other registries. Second, the returns there were really easy. Finally, I just thought the customer service there was great.
I would go in and look at stuff in the store, even if you do register online. Sometimes the stuff looks very different in person than you imagine it from the photo on the website.

Re: Registering
I registered at BBB and Fortunoffs. There were no incentives to register in store, but it is really a good idea to go to the stores and see everything in person. I set everything up online and then went to the store and looked at things and held things. There were many things (like china) that I saw online that looked completely different in person. You can always look at things in the store and then go home and add them to your registery if you don't like the whole scanning thing.

Re: Registering
My friend just got married and did all of her registries online. She registered at LNT, Fortunoffs, & Macy's and when it came time to buy for her shower everyone had problems because many of the things she picked that were online they didn't have at all as the things were discontinued.

This can also happen if you register to far in advance...
