I need to start this soon, but have no idea what to ask for. Is there a 'must have' post somewhere on here? Or can you tell me the necessities? I have been on own for 10 years now, and have a lot of the basics...although they are hand me downs...do I ask for all new stuff? I think that would make me feel like I am being greedy....HELP!

Re: Registering...
DEFINITELY ask for new stuff, new sheets, new plates, silverware....if you register at Bed, Bath and Beyond, they give you a whole checklist and have awesome stuff! Good Luck!!!!

Re: Registering...
any ideas as to where I should register? I was definitely thinking of BBB, but where else? And do I need to make an appt? Or can we just walk in and say we want to register?

Re: Registering...
I say def ask for new stuff - it's not being greedy. This is the time to get the nice stuff, and no one really knows what exactly you have anyway.
I def recommend registering at BBB and Macy's. For BBB, we just walked right in on a Saturday and were able to register. For Macy's, we made an appt for a Saturday because people recommended that, but I don't think you really need one. But if you can, go during the weekday, it is probably less hectic!
BBB gave us a checklist of items, and I brought that with me to Macy's too. Also, a lot of Bridal Magazines tend to have a checklist for registering every so often.

Re: Registering...
You can start online if you want! I did this with BBB and Macys and then just visited the stores to make sure I had everything I wanted, or to see what was available there that wasn't available online, etc. Much easier I think doing it online. The stores took a long time and I was very tired afterwards. I hated registering! I am so glad it's over!
