Registering

Registering

My sister insists that I register at 2 places. Did anyone else do this? I started with BRU and since she wants me to do BBB also, I started one online, and I just keep adding lots of little things that I'm not even sure if I need, or won't need them until later.

Re: Registering

I did and it worked out good. There were some things at BBB that they did not have at BRU-our stroller for one. No matter what, I think you will end up with exchanges and credits, that's sort of how it goes-more so than a wedding registry-you realize you dont need something or you decide you want a different one of something. But as Im sure you can imagine, these will be you new favorite stores so you'll be able to use those credits easily. One thing BBB does is sends out periodic 20% off coupons- I used one on my glider and one on my car seat so that's a score.

however if you do decide to go with one, BRU is the way to go. there are more stores all over and their on line registry is much more user friendly, especially for guests who arent really familiar with baby gear.

whatever you do, dont be quick to throw out boxes! you may want to return something after the baby comes-we had to do that with our monitor-thank goodness we had the box.

Have fun!

I just registered at BRU. I figured that was just easiest for most people (and for me).

I feel really stupid, but what's BRU?

Re: Registering

BRU is Babies R Us.

I was only going to register at BRU, but I didn't see any bedding that I liked, although, I looked pretty quickly the other day! Now I'm thinking I should check out BBB and if they have something I like, I'll register there, too.

I've never been to BBB so I'll check 'em out. I definitely would have just registered at BRU if they had what I wanted. I think 1 store is sufficient.

Good luck.

Re: Registering

I went in to BBB the other day for the first time and it reminded me of a baby's version of Bed, Bath & Beyond!! It can be a bit overwhelming! I laughed because years ago there wasn't much of a selection out there and now there's too much of a selection! If you're like me, the indecisive type, you'll have a major problem!!! Joe told me he's going to register w/o me because I can't make up my mind for anything!!!!

The carriage section in BBB reminded me of a car lot -- I've never seen so many carriages in one place at one time!!!

Like Elizabeth mentioned, BBB's on-line registry isn't the greatest though.

If anyone is clueless about baby products (like me) you should read Baby Bargains by Denise & Alan Fields. The reviews are impartial and really really helpful. I think the new one is coming out really soon.

I registered at BRU. It was so great. Very easy. It is also very close to my house. I got every thing I needed. The only thing I didnt get there was my rocking chair.
