Registering??

Only been engaged for a month and I've been inundated with questions of when I'm going to register.. I plan on registering for bridal shower. I'm getting married in Dec. The thought of registering now is bizzare to me. Anybody else get hit with this question?? I understand why everyone is aking, but if I register now, I'll have to add to it in months to come and/or I'm afraid new things will come out or my taste will shift

no one has asked me when im registering... but if they are asking because they want to buy you stuff then I say register for some stuff now and then add to it later before your shower....

i havent registered yet... my shower is in April

Re: Registering??

I've only been engaged for 10 days and I've already registered at one place (but that's because I'm the consultant for it, and I know I will like the stuff -- and I was drinking and all excited), but I haven't even started looking for places or settled on a wedding date yet. I'm hoping for October, but I'm worried that I won't be able to get everything done by then...

It just sounds like people want to get you engagement gifts and want it to be something you'd want.

yep as soon i was engaged i was harassed by family - they wanted to buy us engagement gifts so we did it like right away. I put alot of things on like the lenox picture frames, cake server set etc and added alot of other things later...

I would do basics stuff like when you go to BBB and register for some wedding frames, some vases..maybe even like a few odds and ends. Don't go all out yet..wait till after Christmas because then new stuff will come out.

Some people asked but I just told them that it was too soon for me. I have no idea what I'm going to want a year from now. When we had our e-party, most people gave us money. The people who gave gifts bought very pretty frames and flute glasses. I'm planning on registering in the spring.

Yeah I know thats why they're asking. But I have no time or desire to even do that yet. Plus i have nothing, so anything anyone gets us will be greatly appreciated. The thought of spending time in a store right now at this time of year is exhausting LOL

My aunt told me if I wanted an engagement gift I had to register. Then she didn't buy me anything off of it

you can do a lot online. You don't necessarily have to GO to a store. I know you'll want to see things, but some things are pretty standard. Picture frames, cookware, anything that you could use now and not really change your mind about...

Of course you'll be appreciative of anything that anyone gives you, but why not have it be something you picked out???

What's funny is that people asked me the same thing and I registered. Only one person has gone shopping so far..
