Registering at Macy's

Registering at Macy's

I had started registering this past weekend at BBB. While I was there, we were talking to another couple and we mentioned that we were planning to register at Macy's this coming weekend. We live on the Nassau/Queens border, so the nearby Macy's for us is Douglaston or Manhasset. They told us the only place you can do a registry for Macy's is the one at Roosevelt Field - is this true?

We're looking to do it at the closest Macy's to us, so I'm just wondering about the ones near us, not ones in Suffolk or the city. Roosevelt is nearby for us too, but I know it's just always hectic at the mall.

if that's the case, just take the whole day to get it all done at Roosevelt. That way you don't have to go back! FH will be very excited to use the scanner gun LOL

ETA: whatever you don't get done, just add it online. That's what I've been doing.

Noooo! I registered online and listed Smith Haven Mall as my closet location and the Registry 'chick' from Smith Haven mall called me the next day to see if I had questions or needed help then sent me a letter.

I think others have mentioned that the RF one is the best (as far as selection) but I find it hard to believe that a semi-national chain only allows you to register in person at one location.

The one in Douglaston doesn't do bridal registry, but the one in Manhasset does. However, it's not nearly as big a registry dept as the one in Roosevelt Field. From where you live, it's an extra half hour to go to the RF mall...well worth the time because the bridal registry dept there is large (at least 3 people at all times and more on weekends) and the ladies know what they're doing. Ask to work with Arlene...she rocks!

And definitely make an appointment to reigster...it's busy on weekends!

I registered at the Macy's in Manhasset and they were AWESOME! They have a huge selection and the woman who worked with us was very helpful. I definately recommend them!

If I called tomorrow to make an appt for this Saturday, do you think they'll have anything open? I can't believe I have to make an appt to register!

you shouldn't have a problem getting an appointment. I registered on a Sunday and there were A LOT of people registering that day...2 at the same time as me, and when we gave the machine back an hour later there were another 3 (plus more while we were on the floor).

It's an extensive process...they talk to you for about half an hour before you zap things, and then they look over your items when you're done to offer suggestions and help you add more without having to physically zap items.

I totally agree, I registered in Manhasset and I never saw such a helpful macys staff in my life lol...they told us what to avoid and reminded us what we should add, they gave us a free tote with some info inside along with a check list...FH was having a blast with the scanner, such a little kid lol

I went to Roosevelt Field and they were amazing! I also went to Smith Haven and they were quite helpful as well. Roosevelt however did have the best selection. Even though the mall itself is really crowded, Macy's is not. There are people around, but I went later at night on a Friday and it was quite peaceful. FH and I had a blast.

Thanks for all the info. My brother works in the mall, so I had him go over to Macy's on his break and make an appt for me to register, haha.

Definitely NOT true. FH lives right near Green Acres so we went there. Roosevelt Field has a larger selection so I suggest going there. Douglaston and Manhasset are small in comparison.
