I was SO looking forward to registering, but now after I did I feel like I don't have enough stuff on my list!
I didn't want to just scan anything...The problem is that both my fiance and I live on our own now and have everything we need!
I registered for the expensive stuff like pots, china, casual dinnerware, luggage, some appliances and serverware, and towels..etc. We have to go back for bedding but it just doesn't seem like enough.
Should I just hope I get gift certificates or money instead of gifts I don't want?!?!? Or should I keep going back to look for more stuff to register for?

Re: Registering help!
Don't stress over the bathroom and bedroom items yet. Wait until you guys move in or sometime in march or april because you will have plenty of time to do it before your shower.

Re: Registering help!
I've heard of some people having 'gift card' showers where they ask for cards from certain places so they can fix up their homes or buy furniture, etc. I've also heard of people being able to register for their honeymoon- have you considered that?

Re: Registering help!
are there any decorative crystal bowls, vases or figurines that you like. How about furniture, vaccume, electronics (TV, tivo, new phones)?
I registered for only 2 decorate bowls but I ended up getting a few of them. They are all nice tiffany pieces, but had I realized people would want to get that stuff I would have registered for more. I got a waterford bride and groom that I did not register for but I love it. Had I realized I would have registered for some lladro pieces and things like that.

My advise is to make sure you register for enough stuff. If you dont people will buy you random gifts from stores you do not care for.

I would decrease the amount of stores you're registering at. If you have only a few items at a few different places, you can consolidate into one registry and have more items.
Does that make any sense?

Re: Registering help!
We registered at Fortunoff's and Macy's. I keep adding stuff to my registry online as I think of new things. We are in a similar situation as we've both lived on our own before we moved in together (me for 6 yrs, him for 6 mos! lol) I think it's normal to feel as if you're missing stuff. Did you add things like frames and vases? Add the stuff that you wouldn't necessarily buy for yourself but would love to have. That's what we did in the end. Good luck!

Re: Registering help!
I agree with the other posts...put on what you really want...don't settle. If you still don't have a lot...try the honeymoon registry route.
Some friends used... www.thehoneymoon.com
Apparently, people choose items that you list (hotel rooms, massages, waterskiing, etc.) and give you the dollar amount toward those items through the website...but I'm pretty sure you just end up with a check from the registry and you can use it however you want on your honeymoon. Look into it...that's one of our stops - once we pick our honeymoon.
Also, I've noticed that some people just want to get you a thought...it's a good idea to have a few small 'gift' things on your registry - like frames, etc. so you don't get stuff you don't want.

Re: Registering help!
FH and I live with our parents and don't know what we'll need! I can't decide on colors or anything! Maybe replace some of the things that you already have? Do you want to upgrade your kitchen accessories? I say stock up on decorative items...My Pottery Barn registry is only decorative stuff that I love and want. The practical stuff is on the Bed Bath and Beyond registry.
