Re: registering help!!

It could be if you wanted it to be. Personally I would think it is more everyday use.

According to the woman @ Bloomingdales : In order for a table to be formal you need a table cloth and dishes

Re: registering help!!

We only picked one set that we could use for both. My FMIL is giving us her Grandmother's fine china which we prolly will ONLY use for *Special Occassions*, We will display that in our dining room and use the set we registered for for everyday & formal dining. I plan to use different linins to diffrenciant. You have to go to C&B to see them since my image won't post

That makes sense. You are lucky to be getting your Great Grandmother's china -- I want my mother's but she isn't ready to give it up!

Re: registering help!!

I never understood why someone needs fine china. I'm inheriting my aunts because I love it and she promised it to me years ago lol. Think about it though, you put out your best and most expensive stuff and something breaks! I'd rather use everyday stuff during the holidays (when we're supposed to use the good stuff).

I like what you picked out, but personally think its meant for everyday based on the colors. I feel things that are lighter in color and less colorful are more the fine/fancy china.

I agree w/ the breakage, that's why my FH's Great Grandmother's China will most likly stay on display in our dining room, and we'll use our 1 set of china for all occassions
