i think ur registering too earlly!!! most things get discontinued--

i registed at 2-bed bath n beyond n fortuneoff had wayyyy too much stuff-lol

i thought i was going to go to crate n barrel, but seriously, there was nothing left to put on!

prices-no one cares-ppl will buy you it

as far as furniture goes, no one really registers for it..since it is a bigg gift

Mostly decorative things get discontinued, like sheets and bath decor. Your basic pots, pans and small appliances should be around for a while. Are you registering now for your bridal shower or are you hoping to get things for Christmas and B-day's? If you're getting some things early then register for whatever you want.

As far as how many places to register, I think 4 is the max. It gives your guests a variety of price ranges to shop from. No matter what the cost, I would add it because things go on sale (I registered at Macy's and a cake mixer we like is $300 but it's always on sale on wednesdays for like $150). Bigger department stores have tons of one day sales so if people shop smart, you can get the items you want and they don't have to spend too much.

i agree it is too early to register unless you're having an engagement party soon, then you should register for certain items.

Fh and I registered last month wedding is under 7.5 months away and they told us at Fortunoff to not register for bedding or linens until 4 months before the wedding.

We're registered at 2 stores, but I think if you want to register at 3 thats fine, just be careful to not put dupilcate items on the registeries.

Re: Registering Questions...

i think you should register for whatever you want - some of the stuff i thought was expensive really isnt. . . like my formal china is like $70 a place setting when it's not on sale BUT my mom reminded me that my cousin just registered for Vera Wang that was over $100 a setting - the thing is that kind of stuff is ALWAYS on sale and if people happen to catch a sale it will be a lot cheaper for them - and if not. . . .they shouldnt have waited until the last minute! j/k

i registered at BB&B but only 10 things at Fortunoff - I am not going to tell my regular guests about Fortunoff bc i dont want people to go there and then find only ten items ( people who don't shop online). . . so i will tell my family about that registry only - and look now you know too HA HA

you shouldnt register for any of your bedding and bath items bc that will change a billion times before the wedding. . . but everything else should be fine!

i think its a great idea to register now - i know that my family is going to start getting me stuff for christmas and my birthday - better to start getting the stuff i need now instead of crappola i really dont need!

as for furniture i wouldnt register for it BUT if there is something that you really want maybe you can talk to your family about it and see if they want to all chip in for it. . . i mean this will only work with family that you are close to . ..

Re: Registering Questions...

I started my registry, but I stopped because i don't want to start receiving my items now as we planned on moving so it will too much stuff to cary around.
and FH thinks it's a bit early to register. we have 18months to go

Re: Registering Questions...

I think it's ok for you to be registering now. Some people might get the idea to use it for Christmas and birthdays also. And if somethnig does get discontinued then you just replace it. It's not that big of a deal.

As far as prices, if you want it put it on there. Maybe it's too much for 1 person but they might go in on it with 1 or 2 other people. It can't hurt.

dont worry about price - more expensive things people may chip in for and if you dont have them on there you definitely wont get it

Re: Registering Questions...

I was told to wait a bit.......u could register for something ( like a bedroom set) and get half of what you want but by the time your bridal shower rolls around, the things you registered for are discontinued. I know I am rambling, but sooooooo many people have told me to wait.

Re: Registering Questions...

I just started to register and I have a year and 5 months to go and i will not have a engagement party.

My problem is I rushed to do it because i had my aunt purchase a gift for us and well its really stupid. My mother was like WHY would she do that?? I got no receipt and she told my mother oh i didn't regift anything I actively picked something out for her.

So honestly Just pick things out that will not be disconntinued (it will tell you on the list most of the time to pick something differnt) and if you do the list early check it every month leading up to the wedding to verify if things are being discontinued.
