FH and I are definitely registering at BB&B, and were going to also have one at Fortunoff, but now we're thinking maybe Macys or Bloomingdales instead.
Which of the three did you have a better experience with?

Re: Registering with poll
We registered with Macy's and BBB. Macy's offers a percentage back to the bride and groom for every purchase made to their registry.
Plus, I have family and friends out of the area and Macy's is everywhere, where else the other stores are not. Macy's has taken over Kaufman's and Filene's in the eastern seaboard and the south.

I didn't vote because I didn't register yet, but I know from my friends experiences so far. Two friends of ours registered at Fortunoff and BBB and they had a great experience with both. A different friend of mine decided not to register at Fortunoff and instead registered at Bloomingdales. She was happy with them, but I felt that their selection wasn't as good as Fortunoff when I went to get her a gift from there. Thats JMO though. Plus not a lot of people bought off her Bloomingdale's registry either.

I *think* Macy's bought Fortunoff so the registry is the same.

We're registered at BBB and Macy's. I personally am not a fan of the macy's registry. More than half of the items I had listed were not in stock, and had an estimated ship time of 6-8 weeks (and these are basic items, picture frames, electrics, etc.). That was definitely a huge deterrent for guests when they were buying gifts for our e-party. Who wants to buy a gift, spend a ridiculous amount of $$ on shipping and not have the item show up for 2-3 months? Their prices are also pretty awful. Not to mention they are VERY unfriendly and unhelpful at Herald Square...

If you have a lot of oot guests then you may not want to register at Fortunoff. They only have them in NY.

Re: Registering with poll
I registered with both. Here's what I have been told. Macy's is nice b/c there are many locations, but their customer service is iffy. The day we were there to register, there was a man who had been waiting for two hours for someone to get a registry items. Fortunoff however has great customer service, but not many locations. I wasn't going to register w/ fortunoff, but ffil kept bugging me to do so, so It's basically a copy of my Macy's registry. Hope this helps.

Re: Registering with poll
i'm registered at Crate & Barrel, BBB, and Fortunoff...but I think I'm going to cancel my Fortunoff registry because I don't see the point. Fortunoff is only in NY..and i THINK NJ...and we have a bunch of OOT people and older guests as well so while they can order things from Fortunoff online I know they'd rather go to a store and actually pick something tangible
personally I'm hoping we get most of our stuff from Crate & Barrel..i LOVE LOVE LOVE that store

Re: Registering with poll
do fortunoff and BBB! yOU WILL FIND the same electronic appliances at bbb and the bonus is that your guests can use coupons at bbb. I am leaving the pots and pans and my fancy bedding to fortunoffs...
and then throw in a third like crate and barrel for unique items...

Re: Registering with poll
In my experience dealing with Macy's for other people's registries is a horror!!! I registered at Fortunoff and BBB. Both are a pleasure to deal with. Even if Fortunoff doesn't have the item in stock (say all 12 pieces of your china) they will order it for you with a 50% deposit but no extra charges. Macy's wanted to charge me a shipping charge.

Re: Registering with poll
I didn't register at Fortunoff's (eventhough my MatOH told me I'm from LI it's like a rite of passage too, whatever) I chose Macy's b/c I know they're reliable, rarely do they discontinue things, and there's a few on LI and only one Fortunoff's.

Re: Registering with poll
FH's family all live in Nassau County, and FH's uncle works for Fortunoff, so it was kind of a given that it was easier to do it there. But I really liked Fortunoff. The Macy's by me has absolutely nothing there and it's not as nice as the other ones around. We also registered at BBB (that was the first place), and with Pampered Chef.

I didn't know they gave you a % back...how does that work? Is it for you to buy whatever is left on teh registry or anything you want?

I think you get even more if you have a Macy's charge card too....one of my co-workers registered there and told me that.
