Registery

Hello, I am going to be registering soon and I am trying to decide where. My first thought was Fortunoffs, but that is not easy for everyone to get to becuase there are not that may stores. Then I thought about Macy's but I wasn't sure how good they were. I really just want to register in one store and I need everything. Does anyone have any suggestions on other places or opinions on Fortunoffs and Macy's? Please Help!

Registery

I recently had my shower and got practically everything on my registry. Afterwards, almost all my guests told me that they bought the gift online. I`m not sure if many of your guests have access to a computer. If so,they may choose to do it that way - if that is the case, you can register anywhere you`d like.

Registery

Tara, I recently registered at Fortunoff. It seems most people go there as far as gifts. It doesn't help that there is only one on the island. But a lot of people do order online these days. As far as Macy's goes my future mother-in- law wanted us to register there but I heard from a number of people that Macy's is always out of stuff that people put on their registry. Hope that helps. Good Luck, Allison

Registery

I actually registered at JC Penny. We are planning the wedding from out of state and don't have a Macy's or any of the federated stores in North Carolina, so we wouldn't be able to return or replace anything if we needed too. But we do have some stuff at Macy's, and the online option is great for lots of stores.

I am thinking about registering at JC Penney or Kohls. There are alot of stores all over and their prices are very reasonable.

Registery-Fortunoff's PROBLEMS?

Has anyone else had problems going online and registering? I was just on their website and it was sooo slow, I put 3 things on there in about an hour. It's very frustrating.

Registery-Fortunoff`s PROBLEMS sometimes it slow*

It really depends on the traffic. That might sound funny, but at times I have been able to get on and make changes, adds and so on in no time at all - other times things just crawl through the web.

I'm thinking of registering at Michael C. Fina too. What's your experience with them? Are you worried that the store is inaccessible for a lot of people?

Registery - Stephanie

I registered for all of my china and silverware there. They were a pleasure to deal with. One problem, when my guests purchased my gifts, there was a great deal not in stock. They were given gift certificates to give me. I personally didn't mind because I don't need any of that until the wedding is over and quite honestly, I got so many presents, we couldnt' fit anything else into the cars or the house. If that doesn't bother you then I'd say, definitely register there. I didn't feel it was inacessible because I know many people would buy online.

Macy's

I registered at Macy's... 1. Get a recommendation about a particular Macy's to visit. It is worth traveling to one where you will get better service, or has a larger display. I set mine up in Boston, so I can't help you there! 2. Macy's return policy is the most generous I have ever seen, which is very important! You have a full year from your wedding date to return anything bought from your registry, at the price they purchased it at. 3. Go in at an off hour to register. It will be much more stressful and difficult if the store is crowded! 4. Macy's registry is available nationwide, even at some department stores with different names. If you have guests all over that is really helpful! 5. Online ordering is really easy for your guests which is great! Good luck and happy shopping!

Macy`s

Another great benefit to registering at Macys is that after the wedding, they give you 10% off everything on your registery that was not purchased! I recommed the Macys in the Walt Whitman mall ... they have a large selection.

Registery

I registered at Fortunoff`s. I do love the store but I agree a lot of people who are not from Long Island would not go there to purchase a gift. One negative thing about Fortunoff`s is that they do not have the majority of the serving pieces for formal china in stock. It takes 6-8 weeks in most patterns and then you have to go to that pick up location by Zeckendorf to pick it up yourself. My sister went to Bloomingdales to purchase one of my serving pieces. It was delivered to her home at no extra charge in less than two weeks. If somebody was going to buy you a serving piece, they might hesitate if they will not actually have the piece to give you at your shower. So consider Bloomingdales too. I really didn`t check it out for a registery, but it is something to consider.
