I am getting married in October and I have not yet registered! Should I have done that a long time ago? I was just worried of registering too early and the items no longer being available.

You have time. Unless you are having an engagement party and would like guests to buy you gifts off of that, naturally you would wait 6-8 months before wedding. It's usually for the shower and showers aren't normally thrown more than 6 months prior to wedding. I did mine early because I'm compulsive, but you have time.

i would do it now, you would be surprised how many poeple sent gifts to us with in a month of us getting engaged. At least if people no where you are registed the will be getting you things that you want.

We are getting married in August and we just registered last weekend. Our feeling was that we wanted the new stuff to come out and not have to deal with discontinued patterns. We still have not registered for linens b/c we did not see anything that we liked. Also new linens come out in April. Crate and Barrel also said they change stock in late August so if you are registered there some stuff might not be available in October.

You should register for some stuff now- but wait until 4 or so months before your wedding to register for bedding, bath, etc,- those items are seasonal..
Luggage, china, etc. are not.

You have time they say six months before is the perfect time so as long as you do it before april you will be fine. I am getting married in nov and registered when I got engaged and have just started registering new stuff. I was told by the woman at fortunoffs that usually the bedding & towels will change but not the regular everyday stuff.

I would register now, some people like to give engagement presents off the registry. you can always add more on also if it runs low.
