I've actually got a few questions I need help with:
When is a good time to sign up for a registry? How many places? How do people know where you've registered?
I didn't think I needed to give this much thought now, but my cousin brought it up the day after we got engaged and I was a little suprised when she told me that its never too soon to do it.
Thanks!!!

Re: Registry
well we havent set a date yet, but i plan on registering about 1 year or a little longer before the wedding. i would def register at 2 places. we are prob going to choose bed bath and beyond and macys or fortunoffs. people will know where you a registered by word of mouth, they can also check online at the stores website and type your name in, but most likely when your bridal shower invites are sent out, the places you are registered will be written in so they know where to go shopping for you !

Re: Registry
we were waiting to a year before our wedding, but we ended up doing it this weekend. fh's parents and mine kept bugging us to make it so they could start to buy us our china and the rest of the stuff we needed.
we decided to make two. one at macys and one at bed bath and beyond.. between both those places they have EVERYTHING you'll need.
people will know where youre registered by word of mouth mainly. but macys has announcement cards to send out with bridal shower invitations. you just let them know how many you need and theyll give them to you. macys also sends out registry announcements to youre whole guestlist 2 months before the wedding to say youre registered there if you want. plus they offer a lot of rewards like money back for registering with them. its pretty awesome

Re: Registry
I figured a year was about right and as far as places go, I was thinking Macys and BBnB too.

Re: Registry
I have relatives asking if I am registered. We are not yet but we are going to Fortunoff's after the holidays. I think I am going to register at Bed Bath & Beyond and Target as well...

NOOOOO TARGET, please for the love of all things precious...I have heard REALLY bad things about their registry, and IMO its not worth the aggravation. It is your decision to make though, but if I can give you any advice, stay away from target!!

they change their inventory so much that things become discontinued/out of stock very often

Re: Registry
i would wait a little bit because things get discountinued constantly and then its gonna be a pain bc you're gonna have to keep changing your registry...some places like crate and barrel get new stuff every season so definitely be careful with certain stores. ALot of things also end up being out of stock and it constantly changes.

Re: Registry
Very good reason. I will wait then. I will probably register before my engagement party in June and then I will add a lot more from then on.

Re: Registry
Also I heard their return policy stinks. They wont let you return anything without hasseling you and I heard some brides were turned away and now they have two of something bc Target never updated their registry when people bought off of it... I too love shopping at Target, but I wouldnt trust it for a registry...

2 or 3 places is a amount to register at...i def suggest bed bath and beyond, i personally registered kind of right away bc people bought from there for our engagement party, other people are getting married in like 3 or 4 months and they havnt registered yet bc their shower is happening yet, so its really up to you, word kind of spreads about where you have registered, plus when bridal shower invitations go out whoever is throwing it for you normally includes cards that say that you are registered at ... HTH!
