Registry

Registry

Is there a guideline as to much how much to put on your registry? I finally registered last night & already hearing comments from my sister. She doesn’t think I have enough. I don't want to add stuff that I don’t need. Also, is there etiquette on prices? She looked at my china & said wow that’s a lot of money. I don’t expect to get it all. I am trying to put stuff from all price ranges.

Any suggestions??

She has been such a PITA

Put on whatever you like. Just make sure there's more than enough for the amount of people that would be attending your shower in a wide enough price range. Don't be afraid to put stuff on there that you 'want' but don't exactly 'need'. It gives people options and remember, you can always return/exchange anything you get.
I was also told my china was too expensive but it's the only one I loved and kept going back to I put it on there figuring no one would buy it but guess what.....my shower is next weekend and so far 9 out of 12 place settings have been bought. So, you'd be surprised.

Mine is like 4 pages printed out from Fortunoff. I know someone w/ 27 printed out pages. Put on what u like and what u need and a few wish items. I also added some $5 kitchen gadgets and a bunch of $20-$30 items so I covered all budgets. Most china = expensive. People will look for sales and spend the $. Don't stress!

me & FH live together so i have alot of stuff. also, we have no place to put everything. when i went to register i kept hearing 'are you really going to use that'... well now i'm not because our apartment is really small. i do intend to entertain once we buy a house..

on top of all this, i am being rushed to register because my sister is sending out invitations within the next few days.

Dont forget to think outside the box - we put on things like tools and a chair massager. We even put a big cooler and ice maker for parties.

ok one thing i do have to say is to put enough things on your registry that gives everybody something they can buy you. Ive been to showers before and when i get to the store and print out their registries theres almost nothing left and it is the most frustrating thing ever. I either have to get lots of like $10 things bc thats all thats left and honestly its not what i want to do and even then it still doesnt add up and i would have to get more, or theres 1 real expensive item left and have to get that and then theres the possibility of them not having it in that one store so trust me it becomes a pain. I have to go crazy running around trying to buy something and this happens all the time, thats why i put TONS of stuff on my registry to make it easier.

I am sure theres things you can add that you haven't though of...dont forget also things for the wedding such as flutes, cake knife and server, albums, frames and things of that nature.

Damn… your good! your right, that happens to me all the time! I’ll add more stuff. I just feel so rushed & its hard to do this at work. I hate going to these stores on the weekends. Oh well. Guess what I will be doing on my lunch hour

Thanks

Why would you have to go the store? Just add stuff online. That's what I've been doing all along.

Re: Registry

we have a lot of stuff on our registry, esp considering the amt of people invited to the wedding and shower. i don't think having too many items is a bad thing at all. we put lots of things, that range from $5 and up. this way it gives people a chance to have a variety of things to choose from, from all different price ranges.
