Re: registry

We began registering shortly after we were engaged, which would have been about 13 mos before the wedding. I guess some people may say that's a bit early, but if you are good about keeping on top of things (ie. discontinued items) then it should be fine

Re: registry

We registered about a year out. I felt like it was really early but just wanted to get one more thing checked off!

It was early, but we had a surprise engagement party where people were looking for one. So we missed that and now are about 6 months early - lol.

My suggestion is that if you do it early, register for the basics. At places like Crate and Barrell and Pottery Barn, a lot of their collections go on sale and then they get new things in. You don't want half of one collection and then it is sold out.

I do not think there is really a rule. We started to register just after we were engaged and we have since added items. The only things we are waiting until a few months before the wedding to add to the registry are linens and bedding. These items seem to change a bit more than some of the other stuff. We have already received two gifts off of our registry for our engagement!!
